’Before the Silence Comes’, the new single from Unify Separate, finds the Stockholm duo in bittersweet reflective mode, as they pay tribute to the idea of a life of staying true to your dreams.

’Praise be/don’t ever want to lose thee/forever you will be/my sanctuary’, sings Andrew Montgomery, as Leo Josefsson’s dark and driving electronic track channels classic influences such as Gary Numan and synth-era Bowie, overlayed with Andrew’s soulful, synth gospel-type vocal that makes the listener think of Dave Gahan’s solo collaboration with Soulsavers.

This second single from the band’s forthcoming EP ’The God Particle’ is one of the band’s most personal statements yet, featuring heartfelt lyrics from Leo, based on a determinedly positive approach to life that was shaped by early family tragedy.

’Before the Silence Comes’ deals with the inevitable end that eventually comes for all of us,” he says. “It’s about facing the end with peace because even though fate was unkind and hope often silent, you never stopped dancing. You stayed true to your dreams, gave love freely and embraced the fight, so that when the silence finally arrives, you can be comforted by the fact that your life carried purpose, or at least you tried to fill it with some kind of meaning.”
Never a truer word spoken.

The band will be sharing a stage with Rotersand at Hannover Subkultur on November 1, playing with Optic at The Node in Stockholm on November 28, and heading to Gothenburg for the Winterwaves Festival on January 17.
