Stockholm synth duo Unify Separate’s new single ‘Slow Armageddon’ is their most political and timely song yet.
With references to shattered glass, blackened skies, shared lies and ’bread and circuses’, it’s a dark, anguished but thrilling electronic ride through the wreckage of today’s world order, reflecting the fear and anxiety felt by any normal sane person who’s reading the news headlines and thinking: ’WTF is going on?!’…With the track’s creeping sense of dread, it feels like the Slow Armageddon is truly upon us.

Sonically, Leo Josefsson’s urgent and exciting production makes the listener consider peak-period Röyksopp and The Knife, mirrored by his joint lead vocals with Andrew Mont- gomery. There’s also a welcome slice of influence from German dark wave legends Diary of Dreams, with whom Unify Separate have shared a stage many times over the past few years.
Unify Separate release ’Slow Armageddon’ on Friday July 11, just a week before the band hits the stage at the prestigious Amphi Festival in Cologne, Germany. In late August the duo will support Swedish synth stars Priest in Jönköping, Sweden.
‘Slow Armageddon’ is the first song to be taken from Unify Separate’s forthcoming EP, ’The God Particle’, and strikes a new, more direct lyrical and musical tone, as the duo continue their journey deeper and deeper into the electronic dark lands.
